Welcome to Skyllz: for the future with Education & Recruitment

Welcome to Skyllz: for the future with Education & Recruitment

We, people, have done pretty well in the first, second and third industrial revolution. We have adapted to change every step of the way, develop skills, transform our lifestyles and conquer more and more aspects of the miracle we call social evolution.

However, we are now entering our fourth industrial revolution and we are moving forward too quickly. Guided by robots, supercomputers, genetic engineering, IoT and self-driving cars, this new era is happening at an exponential speed, with consequences for every discipline, economy and industry.

When we look at the intersection of higher education and the labor market, we see that we need a completely new and specific set of skills to deal with the rapid changes.

That is where we come in.

Nowadays talent scouting and recruitment agencies focus on the empirical evidence that candidates have the skills (the "what"), how to apply them (the "how") and the drive to do so (the "why") [1 ]. Intangible human capacities to solve problems, analyze solutions and work in a team are more important than ever to develop as a professional in this fast environment.

The key is to create a suitable professional and personal profile that meets the requirements of the market. Old-fashioned, slow and non-digital procedures such as attending a university, obtaining a diploma or a loss of time when writing a resume are old solutions for a new world. They just do not get it in the world today.

Is it possible to create a decentralized and automated system that can work in this new era?

Talent: the diamond in us all
Skills are the practical manifestation of human talent.

We seem to be professionals when we align with our deepest talents [2]. This sounds pretty clear, right? However, it is particularly relevant in our current robotic, machine-learning ecosystem, where jobs are increasingly threatened by artificial intelligence. More than 10 million British employees run a high risk of being replaced by robots within 15 years, as the automation of routine tasks gets underway in a new machine age, according to The Guardian [3].

Until now people could afford to just be part of the chain, repeat tasks over and over again. But in this new era the law of evolution is taking a step forward: only those who are brave enough to examine their true talents and live according to them will make a difference and the robots will survive.

We are born with unique talents. Every single one of us. Education should be aimed at helping us find and shape them to meet the current demand in the labor market.

Releasing human talents It is
nowadays difficult to stand out without the support and prestige of a great university, school or company name. But we believe that human talents are powerful enough to have an impact on themselves.

Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg are perfect examples of this. Proof of a candidate's skills must be sufficient to determine its value, regardless of which institution is behind it. A self-taught boy in Estonia with natural opportunities for growth hacking should be able to access exactly the same job openings as a recent Ivy League or MBA graduate.

The vague border between personal and professional life
In previous decades it was a lot easier to distinguish between your work and your personal life.

In a world that is more connected than ever, it is almost impossible. Everything we do, learn or develop in our personal lives, in one way or another, will affect our professional identity and vice versa.

Any learning activity we do must be automatically recorded and part of a candidate's professional ID, whether it be reading a whitepaper or viewing a YouTube tutorial, attending an event or publishing an article on Medium. There are no limits to the skills that we can demonstrate and put into practice from every aspect of our lives.

A new system that enables us to develop, prove, share and use our skills and talents is necessary to simplify our complex and unique new ways of living.

The motivations of Skyllz

Focus on working hard and living according to your unique talents. Forget about following your steps. Have the system and the community validate and present your skills to you.
Do not allow institutions such as universities or schools to determine your value. If you fit the labor market, you can adjust.
Wherever you were born, studied or worked, you should be able to develop and use your talent to earn a living.
Every skill must be considered under a universal proof-of-skill protocol, making recruitment decisions fairer and easier.

Any activity in which a skill is acquired, applied or improved must be automatically recorded on a blockchain and become part of your professional identity document. From watching a YouTube tutorial to leading a team. From attending an event to publishing an article in Medium.

And that's why we launch Skyllz.

Introduction Skyllz
Skyllz finds again how talent gains access to work and employment gains access to talent in an open ecosystem where meritocracy, transparency and decentralization play together to disrupt status quo in talent assessment, skill certification and talent and knowledge allocation.

To nourish Skyllz's vision, a powerful ecosystem is born: the Skyllz Distributed Platform (SDP) - the open-source, public, blockchain-based and distributed validation protocol for Skills of the Skyllz project. [4]

The SDP ecosystem is fed by two different, but closely related elements:

Proof-of-Skill, the reputation related to each specific skill on the SDP, is non-negotiable and treats validation skills as traceable annotations on the Ethereum Blockchain.

SKT (Skyllz tokens), an interchangeable ERC-20 compliant token that feeds the SDP ecosystem and the activities within and between Skill Touchpoint applications (STapps). It allows users to participate in the ecosystem and validate skills.

Come on, let's make all the talents sparkle:
